1926

The beginning of this historic three-story structure began almost a century ago. What we know now as Vera on Broad was both built and designed by the architecture firm of Richards, McCarty & Bulford, who are responsible for many of Ohio's historical sites. The Ohio Life Insurance Company originally owned the building before selling it to a local commercial property owner.

1980

A new chapter in the history of the building began in the 80s when it was purchased and occupied by the law firm Carlile Patchen & Murphy, who no longer reside in the building but continue to serve Columbus for the past 5o years.

The building is sold to a group of investors passionate about the property and the opportunity to preserve the site’s architectural integrity while also developing the open parking lot that sat behind it.

The vision to achieve a balance is found in what is now known as Vera On Broad: realizing the change that is required to accommodate Downtown Columbus’ needs and desires of present day, while restoring the historic building and preserving the very best of the past.
